The Toy Store

The 1856 Country Store reminds me of my childhood and the days visiting the local ‘candy store’. Although not much for a penny anymore, (remember the Penny Candy Stores), there are still many items for children and adults to pick and choose for a reasonable price. In addition, they have many wonderful items that reflect local craftspeople and their products, blankets, prints, etc. So much fun to visit!

Though I’m a local, wandering thru the 1856 Country Store is always a pleasant experience! I’m amazed to still find new and different inventory each visit. It’s a great place to pick up a gift for that person who enjoys ‘different’ and unique. For such a small building, it’s jam packed with tiny treasures for all ages! Stop by and enjoy the shopping experience and you to will be amazed which will keep you coming back time and time again!

Most welcoming porch or most adorable? As we wound our way through the store, we went past the same old cape stuff that most gift shops had– found an awesome selection of local jams, hilarious photo cards to give to friends/family with a sarcastic sense of humor, and then to the glorious back of the store where old fashioned toys and candy rules.
